Giulia Vardabasso-Lei (b. 1998, Englewood Cliffs, NJ) is a painter living and working in Bremen, Germany. 

She received her MSt in History of Art from the University of Oxford and her BA in Cultural Heritage from the University of Bologna.

Her work explores how the unstable experience of seeing can be given precise form through paint. Nature provides the ground from which she observes how the living world becomes perception and, through recognition, becomes image. Her paintings distil familiar forms into shifting arrangements of colour, light, edge, and gesture, allowing the familiar to become strange again through sustained looking.
